At the age of 27 and in the early stages of his architectural career, Frank Lloyd Wright worked with two of his clients to publish The House Beautiful. Wright was inspired and charmed by an essay by William C. Gannet about the importance of simplicity and craftsmanship in the home. This rug is adapted from Wright’s original designs that are inspired by ironwork and Middle Eastern tapestries.
